6 Ways To Reduce Stress During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a period of excitement, a sensitive and stressful time for the soon-to-be mother. Feeling stress once in a while a while are not exactly a bad thing, but having its day in and day out is bad for the mother-to-be and also for the baby.


Here are some tips that help in reducing stress during pregnancy.

1. Drinking water.

Water consumption eliminates some of the toxins in the body that cause stress. It is advisable that pregnant women should at least drink 8 glasses of water a day.

2. Exercising.

Exercising are a form of reducing stress during pregnancy. The safest form of exercise during pregnancy is walking. Take a brisk walk around your environment in morning before going out is beneficial to the mother and the unborn child. During this period, it best to avoid contact sports, and check with your midwife before trying anything too strenuous.

3. Foot soaks. 

Soaking your feet feels wonderful when you're tired or when you have a long day. During pregnancy, pregnant women experience swollen feet. Your feet may also be sore from extra weight gain at this period. When soaking your feet,  it is best to soak with lukewarm water.

4. Laughter.

Laughter is a way in which pregnant women can release stress. Laughter releases chemicals in the brain that improve your mood and help you feel better. Try to engage in activities that will make you laugh and makes you feel relax.

5. Take naps. 

Taking a nap is another form in which mother-to-be can reduce stress. Pregnant women need extra energy to stay fit and healthy throughout the day. Taking shorts naps for 30 minutes to 1 hour is very necessary during the middle of the day.

6. Get help with household chores. 

Getting help during pregnancy with household chores is not a bad idea considering the circumstances pregnant women found themselves during this periods.
