10 signs of kidney disease

1. Blood in urine.

Blood in the urine can be a sign that something has gone wrong with your kidneys or the urinary tract. Healthy kidneys typically keep the blood cells in the body when filtering wastes from the blood to create urine,  but when kidney's filters do the opposite, these blood cells can start to leak out into the urine.  Blood in urine might necessary not be a sign of kidney failure but can be indicative of tumours, kidney stones or an infection.

2. Feeling Tired.

Healthy kidneys produce a hormone called erythropoietin,  which tells your body to make oxygen carrying red blood cells.  But if the kidney fails,  they produce less of these hormones and as a result, it leads to your muscles and brain got tired easily which can lead to anaemia.

3. Having difficulties sleeping.

When kidney filters fail to work properly, the toxins that were supposed to filter out from the blood through urine stays in the body. As a result, sleeping becomes difficult.

4. Feeling the urge to urinate frequently.

The urge to urinate more especially during the night intensifies when you have kidney disease as a result of your kidney filters been damaged. Also, it might be a sign of urinary infection or an enlarged prostate in men.

5. Protein in urine.

Protein in the urine is one of the earlier signs of kidney diseases. Healthy kidneys waste and fluid out of your blood and leave nutrients that are beneficial to you,  but when the tiny filters that are preserved in the kidney are damaged, they allow a protein called albumin to escape from the blood into the urine.

6. Feeling very itchy.

When the kidney fails, the kidney build-up of water in your blood can cause serve itching.

7. Swollen feet and ankles.

When the kidney is effected,  it reduces the kidney function which can lead to sodium retention, which causes swelling in your feet and ankle. Also, it could be as the sign of liver disease, chronic leg vein problems.
